kwiry- Santa’s Little Helper

Santa may not have switched to texting yet, but we sure have. We did a lot of our shopping late this year and like most people we’re bargain hunters so we rarely buy in the store. We used kwiry to text in gifts we wanted for friends and family and then took care of much of our shopping starting at kwiry.com. The website made it easy to find the best prices online and keep track of the gifts we’d bought - avoiding the long holiday lines and belligerent Christmas shoppers. Santa never had it this good.

Speaking of holiday rushes - we got some great coverage last week during our launch - see some highlights here. There were even lots of international posts in French, German, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese! (our translators tell us it’s all good news!)

As 2007 winds down we’re still working hard to improve kwiry with your recommendations. What does Santa (Nabil and Steve) have underneath our tree?
- additional task functionality
- search improvements
- voice integration
- and more….

As always we’d love to hear from you so post in our forum or send us feedback.

We look forward to a great 2008 and wish you a happy holiday season!

- The kwiry team!

  3. Hey Kwiry,

Do you support cell phone networks outside of the US? esp in Australia?

If so, great. If not, no worries, I may be able to Twitter you and I can access Twitter on my mobile thanks to fring. (See fring.com)

  4. Mark - we continue to think about various API options, would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on what type of API might be useful for developers and kwiry users, please e-mail us any/all suggestions to feedback@kwiry.com!

  5. Tim-

We’ve been surprised and encouraged by the international interest in our service, both from bloggers and users. Since we’re just getting started though, our short code only works with mobile carriers within the US.

There are, however, a few other ways to send in kwirys. If you have a data plan associated with your phone, you can submit kwirys by emailing them to save@kwiry.com. You can use a smartphone or use SMS to send to the address. If you choose the latter option, you’ll need to make sure to add your phone’s e-mail address to your account (usually some combination of yourphonenumber@xxx.carriername.com).

As you mentioned, another option is to use our twitter integration if Twitter is available for you.
